Low cloud gradually gave way to patchy sun, as we took in the final two Corbetts, Ben Chaorach and Beinn Odhar. Like yesterday, we were following a region boundary - this time between Strathclyde and Central. It was marked by a line of mostly decrepit fenceposts.
We reached the narrow pass at noon, reaching (at right angles of course) the WHW, the railway, the A82 and a row of pylons - jostling for position.
Tim's toes were in real trouble - they'd been oozing pus for most of the Section. My experiment with the stick had definitely made a difference and I'd been able to cope with the steep descents a lot better than last year.
My records show the section was 268km long with a total ascent of 17,568m - slightly more ascent than Section 2, which surprised me, in slightly less distance. It must have been all those very steep Corbetts.
Very fetching headgear!
