(Map 50). Tim and I returned to the fencepost on the West Highland Way where we had left a marker at the end of Section 3 last year. We climbed up the side of the forest and soon reached the summit of Beinn Bheag (in the background of the photo on the previous posting). The route down to the A85 involved crashing our way through thick pine forest - tough but good fun.
After some last minute shopping in Tyndrum we made our way back to the watershed and climbed up through the old leadmine workings.
We camped at 286296, beside a tiny stream. It rained and thundered overnight, and in the morning the stream had become a torrent (see photo).
